A timeless treasure
Is this love of mine
At the mention of your name
Heaven comes to earth
Passionate pleasures are birthed
Sadness is replaced with mirth
Life itself takes upon new worth
Like the dawning of the sun
For you Karla my heart does run
You my darling are both fulfilling and fun
My eyes awake and heart revives
When you come
Like the radiant noonday sun
Karla’s face does shine
Being with her is no crime
Let me break therefore
The barrier of time
For the object of my love
Is not measurable by time
As inwardly
She is more aged
Than the finest wine
When with her
I feel the Presence of my Creator
The power of my Maker
The depth of endless love
Originating from God above
A timeless treasure
Is this love of mine!
Yet some say
“Slow down!”
“Love takes time.”
Such commentary to me
Has no reason or rhyme
Neither for it
Would I give a dime
For I know in whom I believe
This woman of mine
Whenever or wherever
We are together
We have a marvelous time.
The ruler of the universe
Is not bound by time
Being the alpha and omega
The beginning and the end
As He was to Abraham
He’s my closest Friend
Why then should my love
Be brought to a bitter end
That I might merely fit in
Within cultural confines
Concerning time
Take time out of the equation
It need not hinder love
With its abrasion
Commitment is not measurable
By a calendar
Regardless if you’re Caucasian or Asian
Consider the patriarchs of old
Who were persuaded and yet so bold
Abraham who took Sarah
She being ten years younger than he
Nevertheless the promise of God
They together did see!
Adam and Eve were united
By love at first sight
They were surely excited
For them it worked out right.
Rebekah and Isaac
Met in a moment
Happily wed
And did not relent.
Boaz saw and took Ruth
He being spiritual and smooth.
Why then should we wait
When there is so much to lose.
Love is to be expressed and enjoyed
Not constrained, made to wait and abused.
When God stood up
Time stood still
Why cannot then
Your heart be now filled?
Far be it from me
To bow to such mediocrity
Feeling the favor of the Lord
I must proceed boldly
With faith and confidently
Our love is not measurable by time
For Karla to me is perfect
A work of art in her prime
Why then must there be reason
When there is rhyme
As for me
I refuse to wait in line
Our love is divine
Why then should we be cerebral
When the Matchmaker above is spiritual
The power, Presence & Person is here
Let us therefore rejoice
In each day, month and year!
Causing all the earth to experience and hear
