Tom Gores’ Business Philosophy
Tom Gores established Platinum Equity in 1995. He is an American businessman whose main focus is to invest in startup companies, as well as in buying out financially challenged businesses. He created the concept of “managed entrepreneurship,” which is mostly the reason behind his success in creating Platinum owned companies. The rapid growth of Platinum Equity is due to Tom Gores’ strategy of combining operational knowledge and M&A insight to make unique company purchasing. In just over 14 years, the firm has acquired revenue of over a billion dollars.
With Tom Gores’ philosophy, he has attracted one hundred M&A&O® professionals dedicating themselves to fulfilling the process of buying out companies through acquisition operations. These people are a part of Platinum’s team and the foundation of Platinum’s success. His approach in pursuing success is all based on core values that shape the stability of his company.
Apart from making his company a multi-billion dollar success, Tom Gores concerns himself with other pursuits. He is involved in various philanthropic activities and is, in fact, one of the board members of LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Previously, he served UCLA Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital as a member of their boards.
